Israeli troops deploy at the border with the Gaza Strip
Sharjah 24 – AFP: The Israeli military announced that Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, Chief of Staff, has approved the central framework—referred to as the “main concept”—for a new offensive in the Gaza Strip. This military strategy follows a recent call from Israel’s security cabinet to seize control of Gaza City.

Offensive set for Gaza City and beyond

The approved plan focuses on expanding operations into Gaza City and other areas currently outside Israeli control. These include central Gaza refugee camps and the southern Al Mawasi region, where many internally displaced Gazans have sought refuge.

Rising tensions and humanitarian concerns

The approval comes amid mounting tension between the Israeli political leadership and military officials, including public disagreements between Zamir and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over the strategy's risks. International condemnation is growing as fears increase over the expanding humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
