Sharjah 24: The Emirates Library and Information Association (ELIA), in collaboration with the Juma Al Majid Centre for Culture and Heritage, organised a workshop entitled "Building Strategic Partnerships for Library Management."
The workshop was led by Iman Bushalibi, Director of Sharjah Public Libraries Department, and took place at the headquarters of the Juma Al Majid Centre for Culture and Heritage.

The aim of the workshop was to emphasise the significance of strategic partnerships between cultural institutions and libraries in the UAE to develop knowledge systems and library services that align with technological advancements and the challenges facing libraries in the digital age. During the session, Bushalibi addressed key topics related to modern library management, and how strategic partnerships can enhance the sustainability of libraries while improving the services offered to the public.

The workshop attracted numerous specialists in the field of libraries and information from various Emirates, as well as representatives from cultural and library organisations. The event featured interactive discussion sessions focused on best practices for library development and enhancing collaborative efforts between institutions to achieve shared objectives, particularly in the realms of digitisation and heritage preservation.

His Excellency Fahad Al Maamari, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of ELIA, expressed his satisfaction with the collaboration with the Juma Al Majid Centre to organise this workshop. He stated, "At ELIA, we recognise the importance of strengthening strategic partnerships between libraries and cultural institutions at the national level. This workshop is part of our ongoing efforts to develop the library sector and raise awareness about the significance of cooperative initiatives in addressing the challenges posed by contemporary developments."

Al Maamari added, "We are looking forward to more future events that will contribute to enhancing the institutional capabilities of libraries and developing services to meet the needs of the knowledge community."

This workshop is part of a series of activities organised by the association aimed at improving the quality of library and information services in the UAE and reinforcing the role of libraries as cultural and scientific platforms.
