Sharjah 24: In an exclusive statement to “Sharjah 24,” Alex Jessop, Programme Leader of Professional Dance at Sharjah Performing Arts Academy (SPAA), announced the holding of the first production for this academic year of the prestigious Trinity Level 6 Diploma in Professional Dance. This is the first time the programme is being offered outside of the United Kingdom, providing a unique opportunity for students in the region to pursue a professional career in dance.
“The programme focuses on technical dance, with areas of expertise including classical ballet, contemporary dance, and jazz,” Jessop explained. "Additionally, students develop supporting skills in aerial work, Pilates, commercial dance, tap, and, most importantly, choreography. The choreography component is crucial and is built upon throughout the three-year training."

The programme’s culmination was showcased in a live performance, featuring solo pieces and creative works developed from scratch. These performances were produced in collaboration with students from the academy’s production arts programme, highlighting the choreographic talents nurtured over the course of the programme.
