Sharjah24: Mr. Assaf Doumit, His Excellency Consul General of Lebanon conveyed his heartfelt appreciation for the national relief campaign "UAE stands with Lebanon", highlighting the impressive turnout at the Sharjah Expo Centre (SEC) and the success of the campaign.
The UAE's commitment to aiding displaced individuals in Lebanon was highlighted, with emphasis on its distinction as the first nation to dispatch aircraft to Beirut Airport.
His Excellency expressed happiness, stating, "We are pleased to witness the overwhelming participation at Sharjah Expo as part of the "UAE stands with Lebanon" campaign, which aims to provide urgent humanitarian aid to the Lebanese people. The warmth and backing from the Emirati community for Lebanon is truly uplifting.”
Mr. Assaf Doumit expressed to “Sharjah24” his deepest appreciation to the UAE, highlighting the country's persistent support for Lebanon, particularly in times of crisis. He emphasised the recent establishment of an air bridge by the UAE to assist the Lebanese amid the Israeli aggression, pointing out that UAE planes were the first to arrive at Rafic Hariri Airport in Beirut to support more than 1.2 million displaced Lebanese since the onset of the conflict.
He highlighted that the number of injured has exceeded 13,000, alongside the numerous martyrs who have lost their lives as a result of the Israeli aggression.
"The solidarity of the UAE reassures us that we are not alone during these challenging times that Lebanon is experiencing," he stated, extending his appreciation to all individuals, volunteers, and Emirati charitable organisations for their steadfast support.
