Sharjah Police discusses its preparations for winter season

Sharjah 24: Colonel Humaid Al Jallaf, Director of the Central Region Police Department at Sharjah Police General Command, chaired a coordination meeting to discuss Sharjah Police’s preparations in cooperation with its strategic partners and the readiness of the relevant teams to receive the winter season 2024-2025.
The strategic partners are the Central Region Municipalities: Al Dhaid, Al Madam, Al Batayeh, and Mleiha municipalities, the Environment and Protected Areas Authority, and the Sharjah Department of Public Works.

This came in the presence of representatives from the Sharjah Civil Defence Authority, the Special Tasks Department, the Traffic and Patrols Department, the Media and Public Relations Department at Sharjah Police, and a number of specialist officers; to ensure the security and safety of visitors to the wilderness areas in the Central Region. 

He stressed Sharjah Police’s welcome to desert visitors and its commitment to enhancing security and safety by harnessing all its capabilities to raise community awareness and reduce the negative and dangerous practices that desert visitors may engage in during the winter, such as climbing sand dunes and disturbing residents of nearby residential areas with vehicles and bicycles that cause noise. 

He praised the concerted efforts of partners and relevant departments and their integration in providing all security measures to ensure a safe winter season for community members.

The meeting reviewed the topics included in its agenda, which aim to enhance security and safety standards in the wilderness areas, and the readiness of the Central Region Police Department, in addition to the plans in place that include launching awareness campaigns for the public, intensifying the security presence of patrols at the entrances and exits leading to the wilderness areas, and rescue teams from the Sharjah Civil Defence Authority, with the aim of protecting lives and property, and achieving the highest levels of security and safety; to provide a safe tourist environment for visitors to the wilderness areas during the winter seasons.
