Sharjah 24: The Dibba Al Hisn Parents Council, affiliated with the Sharjah Districts Affairs Department, organised, on Thursday, an educational lecture at its headquarters. The lecture was attended by parents, community members, and strategic partners, reflecting everyone’s commitment to supporting the education system and strengthening community partnership.
The meeting was attended by a number of prominent figures, including Mohammed Hassan Al Dhahouri and Aisha Khamis Al Dhanhani, members of the Federal National Council, and members of the Sharjah Consultative Council Hamad Abdullah Hamid Al Riyami and Obaid Ahmed Khasaw Al Naqbi, in addition to the presence of Dr. Abdullah Suleiman Al Kabouri, Director of the Sharjah Districts Affairs Department.
The meeting was also attended by Suleiman Mohammed bin Juma’ah, Chairman of Dibba Al Hisn Council, directors of government departments, parents and students.
The session was moderated by Yaqoub Al Balushi, who facilitated an open dialogue among parents about the pros and cons of using AI, with a focus on the importance of monitoring recommendations that support positive behaviours.
The lecture complemented the council’s objectives as part of the mandate of the parents councils in proposing and implementing educational programmes and initiatives, aiming to educate parents on how to support their children and invest their talents in the use of artificial intelligence, which contributes to achieving their successes on a personal and academic level.
The lecture’s themes coincided with the UAE’s strategic goals in the field of artificial intelligence, which were launched by the government in October 2017, aiming to transform the country into a global leader in this field by investing in individuals and key sectors.
The lecture focused on the importance of artificial intelligence and ways to use it safely in the family environment. The first axis was addressed by Major Majid Sultan Ayyaf from the Sharjah Police General Command, who reviewed the safe uses of artificial intelligence within the family.
In the second axis, Khalil Ihya Al Dhahouri spoke along with his son, the student Abdullah Khalil, on the successful experience in developing the children's capabilities in this field, which added a personal touch to the meeting. The floor was also opened for attendees to discuss the positives and negatives related to artificial intelligence, which contributed to enriching the discussion and exchanging opinions.
