Sharjah24: Sharjah crowned UAE Handball Cup champions after defeating Al Wasl 33-21 in the fifth round of the tournament held at Al Wasl Club in Dubai.
The Sharjah men's handball team secured the 2024-2025 UAE Handball Cup title with their fifth consecutive victory, overcoming host team Al Wasl with a 33-21 scoreline. The match took place in the penultimate round of the competition at Al Wasl Club’s indoor arena on Friday evening.
This win officially sealed Sharjah’s first trophy of the season, allowing them to retain the UAE Handball Cup title for the second consecutive year. It also marks their seventh title, making them the most decorated team in the tournament’s history.
Sharjah’s perfect campaign featured five victories, including wins over Dibba Al Hisn, Al Wahda, Mleiha, Shabab Al Ahli, and Al Wasl, securing their spot at the top of the standings. Their upcoming final match against Al Nasr on October 22 will not impact the championship, as Sharjah has already clinched the title, in accordance with tournament regulations.
