Sharjah24: Following the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to provide humanitarian support to those affected by the ongoing events in Lebanon, Sharjah continues its efforts through the Sharjah Charity International (SCI) and its partner organisations. Preparations are being finalised to assemble over 10,000 relief packages with the help of more than 3,000 volunteers from the Sharjah Volunteer Center. In addition, numerous representatives from both local and international media will be present at the Sharjah Expo Centre on Saturday morning for the event.
Abdullah Sultan bin Khadim, Executive Director of SCI, stated that the "UAE Stands with Lebanon" initiative reflects the core values and principles on which the UAE was built. The nation's strong humanitarian identity has placed it among the leading global donors of aid. However, this campaign goes beyond traditional relief efforts, delivering aid in a dignified and respectful manner, embodying the values of generosity established by Sheikh Zayed. Under the guidance of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, citizens and residents alike are coming together to support those affected, offering help purely for humanitarian reasons, without any political or ideological motivations.
He added, "Our hearts are with our family in Lebanon. Through this campaign, we express our deep sense of brotherhood towards our Lebanese neighbours and reaffirm the UAE’s global responsibility as the leading donor of humanitarian aid. Drawing on our charitable heritage and long-standing history of relief work across the world, we provide support to those in need, free from political or ideological concerns."
He also called on everyone to contribute, encouraging people to volunteer for the campaign by registering through the Sharjah Volunteer Center platform at sssd-volunteer.shj.ae or through the website www.volunteers.ae.
