The meeting held at the Council’s headquarters in Sharjah, on Tuesday, was chaired by Jamila Mohammed Al Fandi Al Shamsi, Chairwoman of the Committee; and was attended by the members of the Committee, Ahmed Rashid Al Shamsi, Rapporteur of the Committee; Sultan Saeed Dalmouk Al Suwaidi; Majid Ahmed Al Darwishi Al Shamsi; Fatima Mohammed Khasouni Al Ketbi; Ahmed Obaid Al Awasiyah Al Zaabi; and Salem Mohammed Al Rashidi.
The meeting was also attended by the Council members Rashid Saleh Al Hammadi; Khalifa Mohammed Bu Ghanem; Ahmed Saeed Al Jarwan, Secretary General of the Council; Youssef Hassan Al Ali, Legal Advisor; and Amna Basalib, Secretary.
The committee reviewed different views on the draft law and discussed its various articles after it was referred by the Chairman of SCC to the Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Municipalities, Security Affairs and Public Facilities Committee of the Council in accordance with Clause 4 of Article 7 of Law No. 2 of 1999 regarding the establishment of Sharjah Executive Council; and in accordance with the provisions of Article 72 of the internal regulations of SCC.
The committee discussed the objectives of Sharjah Digital Department included in the draft law, which aim to regulate work and any additions related to the draft law in the department’s competencies to enhance the position of the Emirate of Sharjah as a smart digital city and consolidate its leadership and global competitiveness, in addition to providing smart digital services according to the best international standards.
