The Pink October initiative encompasses a series of activities aimed at raising awareness about breast cancer. Khawla Al Serkal, the Director General of Sharjah Ladies Club and a Board Member of the Friends of Cancer Patients Association, has emphasized the club’s steadfast commitment to annually partake in the global breast cancer awareness month, “Pink October.” This participation is aligned with the club's dedication to supporting and being an active participant in this campaign, in accordance with the visions and directives of Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, President of Sharjah Ladies Club and the wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah.
During the current October, Al Serkal highlighted the organization of a diverse array of programs and events aimed at inspiring and instilling hope. These initiatives align with the club’s awareness objectives to promote early examination as a crucial tool for prevention and life-saving measures. The club is committed to fostering the concept of comprehensive health through sports and community activities across all its facilities and branches.
On October 20th, as part of the Pink October initiative, the club will host an educational seminar in collaboration with the Health Magazine. The seminar aims to raise awareness about the early detection and prevention of breast cancer and will take place at the Beach Lounge.
At Orchid Beauty Boutique's headquarters, a range of activities is offered to support the Friends of Cancer Patients Association. These activities, which are provided free of charge throughout the year, include haircuts and donations. Additionally, the 180 Fitness Center provides sports classes, such as Zumba, aimed at promoting physical and mental well-being. Furthermore, pink beauty services, consultations, and gifts are also available for participants at various facilities.
The activities offered at Orchid Beauty Boutique's headquarters encompass a range of services aimed at supporting the Friends of Cancer Patients Association. These services are provided free of charge throughout the year and include haircuts, donations, and pink beauty services. Additionally, participants have access to consultations, gifts, and a Zumba class conducted by a trainer from the 180 Fitness Center. The aim of these activities is to promote physical and mental well-being among the participants.
Collage Talent Centre will provide various creative workshops including pink painting and soap making. Additionally, complimentary health checks will be available for all participants. Al Hamriyah branch is pleased to announce an upcoming awareness lecture in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Community Protection. The lecture will focus on breast cancer prevention and will include complimentary medical consultations. Additionally, attendees will be eligible for discounts on all services offered at the Jouri Center, as well as special discounts on products available at the Ibdaa Center.
Al Dhaid branch is collaborating with the Al Dhaid Health Center to host a health workshop focused on "Healthy Lifestyle and its Impact on Cancer Prevention." The workshop will also feature a pink color challenge at the fitness center and a special discount on monthly subscriptions.
An awareness lecture on the significance of self-examination for early detection of breast cancer will be held at the Wadi Al Helo branch. Free examinations will be provided to participants through collaboration with Hatta Hospital. The Khorfakkan branch is offering discounts on daily and monthly subscriptions for individuals who participate in breast examinations. Moreover, a pink sports day will be held on the outdoor walkway.
