Sharjah 24: Sheikha Jawaher bint Abdullah Al Qasimi, the Director General of FANN Sharjah has announced that the award-winning films from the 11th edition of the Sharjah International Film Festival for Children and Youth (SIFFCY)will soon be available on platforms such as Apple TV and Netflix, allowing more people to enjoy them.
Sheikha Jawaher bint Abdullah Al Qasimi announced the successful conclusion of the festival on Saturday, honouring the winners across all categories, as well as the sponsors and volunteers whose efforts were essential in this year's success. She highlighted the impressive turnout, noting that all seats were filled during the film screenings, which showcases the festival's success.
Sheikha Jawaher emphasised the festival’s significant tribute to Palestine as the guest of honour, offering attendees a unique chance to engage with the diversity and beauty of Palestinian cinema, celebrated for its rich history and distinctive aesthetics.
During the week-long festival, a total of 98 films from 18 countries were presented, chosen from an impressive 1,834 submissions reaching 73 nations, highlighting the event's importance as a key venue for noteworthy cinematic works.
