Sharjah24: In a closely fought match, the Sharjah Women's Sports Team from the Eastern branch emerged victorious over their counterparts, the Sharjah Women's Sports Team from the Central branch, with a scoreline of 51/46 in the second round of the Women's Basketball League competition held at Al Dhaid City, hosted by the Central team. The Eastern team managed to secure the win by a mere 5-point margin after an evenly matched performance by both teams.
At the end of the round, the Eastern team added two points to their tally, bringing their total to 3 points, rebounding from last week's loss to the Sharjah main team and clinching a victory over the Central team this week. Meanwhile, the Central team also ended the second week with 3 points, having won against the Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Academy team in the first round and suffered a defeat against the Eastern team this week. The Academy team currently occupies the bottom spot with 2 points from losses to the Central and main Sharjah teams, respectively.
Fatima Al Ali, the head of the Sharjah Women's Sports Club's team sports department, praised the performances of both the Central and Eastern teams in their recent league match, affirming that both teams are constantly improving thanks to the club management's comprehensive focus on all aspects, from training and preparation to selecting the best coaching staff for both teams.
The Central team's victory in the penultimate round against the Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Academy team brought joy to all and helped instill the necessary confidence before heading into the upcoming matches in the competition.
