Sharjah24: During the 11th edition of the Sharjah Calligraphy Forum, His Excellency Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Culture, and Mohammed Ibrahim Al Qaseer, Director of Cultural Affairs and Director of the Forum, alongside Aisha Rashid Ali Bin Deemas, Director-General of the Sharjah Museums Authority (SMA), officially opened 14 exhibitions that showcase the artistic beauty of Arabic script at the Sharjah Art Museum and the Emirates Fine Arts Society.
The Forum, taking place with the support of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, is set to run until the end of next month. The focus is on showcasing the rich Islamic heritage found in Arabic calligraphy.
The Sharjah Art Museum presents 13 concurrent exhibitions that highlight artists from different nations, each offering unique artistic views grounded in the true essence and beauty of Arabic calligraphy.
His Excellency Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais and Al Qaseer visited the exhibitions, exploring works of art that showcase various artistic viewpoints while honouring the traditional beauty of Arabic script. The event attracted a large audience, who interacted with the showcased works while artists shared their insights into the progress of the artistic structure from its earliest days. Participants were also given the chance to explore the innovative concepts that contributed to the remarkable successes in Arabic calligraphy.
