Sharjah24: The Sharjah Sports Council recently organised a preparatory volleyball tournament at the Khorfakkan Sports Club arena, with nine clubs participating.
The event was designed to prepare junior and youth teams from Sharjah's clubs for the upcoming season, focusing on improving the physical and technical capabilities of the players. Teams from Khorfakkan, Sharjah, Kalba, Al Madam, Al Bataeh, Al Dhaid, Mleiha, Al Wasl, and Al Nasr took part.
In the juniors’ category, Al Wasl secured the top spot, followed by Al Dhaid in second and Al Nasr in third. Meanwhile, in the youth category, Al Nasr claimed first place, with Kalba finishing second and Al Wasl in third.
Several dignitaries were present at the tournament, including Dr. Basim Al Naqbi, Vice President of the UAE Volleyball Federation, members of the Khorfakkan Sports Club board, and sports specialist Walid bin Mohammed Al Mashhout from the Sports Affairs and Development Department.
The event received appreciation for offering young athletes an opportunity to showcase their skills and gear up for upcoming competitions.
