Sharjah24: The Rubu’ Qarn Centre for Science and Technology has unveiled its unique programme, "Research Journey," designed to target adolescents and young adults to help them develop and enhance their research skills by addressing real-world challenges through technology. The programme aims to make a significant impact by focusing on research, design thinking, and collaborative creativity, connecting with stakeholders and partners to share proposed applications. The programme is scheduled to commence in September and will run for 10 weeks.
The programme includes three different studios, each addressing a specific challenge, with participants assigned to each topic based on their age, strengths, and interests. The first topic is the Interactive Architecture Studio for high school students (years 9 to 12), where participants will be trained in innovative architectural design that leverages modern technologies and dynamic concepts to address environmental changes and improve human quality of life. The programme will begin on 17 September (Tuesdays and Thursdays) from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

The second topic is the Health Technology Studio for high school students (years 9 to 12), focusing on preparing participants to design technological solutions in the health sector, particularly smart prosthetics, to provide the highest quality of medical care for patients. This programme will start on 16 September (Mondays and Wednesdays) from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Notably, the Health Technology Studio and the Interactive Architecture Studio are collaborating with NuVuX for the first time in the UAE. The studio methodologies were developed by MIT graduates passionate about creating innovative solutions and technological projects in design and manufacturing labs.

The final topic is the Energy and Sustainability Studio, designated for young adults aged 18 to 23. It will focus on teaching participants how to address the energy scarcity crisis in the Federal Republic of Nigeria by applying knowledge in science and technology to overcome challenges with innovative applications. This studio is in strategic partnership with the Big Heart Foundation. The programme will start on 21 September (Saturdays and Sundays) from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
