The honoring included the family of the late Ali bin Rashid Al Jarwan, as he was one of the figures who contributed to spreading the sport of judo, and it was received on his behalf by his son Abdul Rahman Ali Al Jarwan. The international referee and lecturer, Captain Ahmed Suleiman Al Balushi, was also honored in the sport of judo, and it was received by his brother Ali Suleiman Al Balushi.
In the sport of Taekwondo, the family of the late Mohamed Mahmoud, one of the founders of Taekwondo, was honored, as was international expert Ziad Hammad for his role in the development of Taekwondo. The honoring was in appreciation of the pivotal and important role in establishing martial arts and sustainability in promoting the development of Judo and Taekwondo.
The honoring also included several distinguished families who played a prominent role in creating champions with high morals and sportsmanship, in addition to achieving sporting and community achievements, namely: the family of Tariq Al Nabooda, the family of Saleh Al Jasmi, the family of Fadel Al Junaibi, and the family of Omar Al Muhairi.
Ahmed Saeed Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sharjah Self-Defense Sports Club, congratulated the honored individuals and their families. He stressed that the club is proud to celebrate those who have positively impacted sports and society, leading to many successes.
He pointed out that this recognition reflects the values of loyalty and gratitude for those who have supported sports and its growth. Al Jarwan stated that the club will keep launching initiatives that build community partnerships and honor inspiring figures who have positively influenced the progress of Emirati sports.
