Sharjah24: Under the patronage of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council, the fifth Sharjah International Men's Basketball Championship will kick off on Thursday, 5 September, at Al Bataeh Club.
The tournament will last six days, beginning with a 5:00 PM match between Sharjah and Saudi Arabia's Al-Fateh. Later, at 7:00 PM, Al Bataeh will meet Kuwait's Al Arabi.
The Sharjah Sports Council, in partnership with Jam Sports Academy, organises the competition, which involves six teams: Al Bataeh, Al Arabi (Kuwait), Dijlah University (Iraq), Sharjah, Hoops (Lebanon), and Al-Fateh (Saudi Arabia).
In previous editions, Sharjah won the championship twice, while Lebanon's CS Maristes and Saudi Arabia's Al-Nassr won once each.
