Sharjah 24: As part of strengthening the community partnership between Dibba Al Hisn Sports Club and government institutions in Dibba Al Hisn, a delegation from the club visited, on Sunday, the 11th Al Maleh and Fishing Festival.
The festival is one of the prominent annual events that highlights one of the oldest maritime industries in the UAE, Al Maleh (fish salting) industry, which is distinguished by its rich cultural and traditional aspects.
During the visit, the delegation toured the festival where they were briefed on a variety of activities offered by the event.
The events included workshops that highlighted traditional methods of preparing Al Maleh, giving visitors the opportunity to learn about the ancient methods used in this heritage industry. The delegation also toured exhibitions that displayed a range of local seafood products, including different types of fish and salt prepared in traditional ways.

Artisans, with their great skill, provided a glimpse into the rich Emirati heritage and deep-rooted traditions of fish salting, which are an integral part of the UAE’s cultural identity.
These events enhance appreciation for Emirati heritage and contribute to the preservation of traditional crafts, while raising awareness of the importance of these industries in the history and culture of the UAE.
