Sharjah24: Salem Ali Al Muhairi, Chairman of the Sharjah Municipal Council (SMC), announced the commencement of the council's 20th session. This comes after the decree from His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and the Ruler of Sharjah, to convene municipal councils throughout the emirate.
In an exclusive statement to "Sharjah 24", Al Muhairi expressed his appreciation for the initiative taken by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and the Ruler of Sharjah to convene the municipal councils. He highlighted the council's efforts over the past year in addressing various recommendations to address citizens' concerns. These recommendations were either addressed through direct communication with the council or through field visits by council members.
He highlighted the prompt and effective responses from Sharjah's government department heads and directors to the council's communications, which tackled various citizen issues. He expressed his optimism for continued collaboration and commitment during the council's 20th session.
At the meeting, the council reviewed a video report that provided a summary of the activities and accomplishments of the council and its committees during the 19th annual session, including 90 meetings and 609 recommendations.
