Sharjah24: In a special ceremony, His Excellency Salem Mohammed bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Dhaid Cultural and Sports Club, was honoured with the "Community Service Medal" presented by the Council of Ambassadors of the European Board, in recognition of his outstanding efforts in serving the community.
This honour clearly reflects the great appreciation for the efforts made in community service and represents an acknowledgment of Bin Huwaiden's achievements and dedication to promoting social and charitable work. It embodies the spirit of generosity and selflessness that characterises his professional and community journey.
In his remarks on the occasion, Bin Huwaiden expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the entities that awarded this medal, stating that this honour is not just a personal accolade but a tribute to everyone involved in Al Dhaid Club and all who contribute to supporting community work.
Bin Huwaiden said, "I feel great pride and honour for this recognition, which I see as a reflection of the collective efforts to achieve noble goals in serving the community. In this context, Al Dhaid Club organised a training workshop titled "The Distinguished Volunteer," in collaboration with the Sharjah Social Services Department and the Volunteer Centre. The workshop was presented by Advisor Dr. Adel Abdullah last night at the club's headquarters. The event was attended by His Excellency Rashid Abdullah Al Mahyan, Chairman of the Parent Council of Students in the Central Region, and Maheer Obaid Al Khayyal Al Tunaiji, Administrative Director of Al Dhaid Club, as well as several community figures, club staff, and administrators.
The workshop targeted the members and volunteers of Al Dhaid Club, as well as those interested in voluntary work from the community. It focused on clarifying the concepts and dimensions of volunteering, instilling the values of generosity and the culture of volunteering, and encouraging community members to engage in humanitarian and voluntary activities, contributing their expertise in serving the nation. The workshop also addressed the importance of developing volunteer leaders who can effectively serve the community.
At the end of the workshop, Dr. Adel Abdullah was honoured in appreciation of his valuable efforts, and the participants expressed their thanks and appreciation for the valuable information he provided.
