Sharjah 24: Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah and Founder of Al Qasimia University (AQU), the Board of Trustees of the University, headed by His Excellency Jamal Salim Al Turaifi, President of the University and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, announced the approval of 480 scholarships for the academic year 2024/2025.
The scholarships that His Highness is keen to allocate to students from all over the world will provide quality education, in line with His Highness's vision in establishing AQU.
AQU welcomes students in the new academic year whereas the students’ increased to 127 nationalities, representing more than half of the countries of the world. This diversity reflects the university's continuous efforts to attract students from all over the world and provide a distinguished educational environment amidst a global diversity of those accepted into its colleges, which are the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies, the College Arts and Humanities, the College Economics and Management, the College of Communication, and the College of the Holy Quran.
On this occasion, Jamal Al Turaifi expressed his deep appreciation for the support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi extending the Board of Trustees highest thanks and gratitude to His Highness for his unlimited and continuous support for AQU, and the allocation of 480 scholarships to reflect His Highness's great interest in providing educational opportunities for students from different countries of the world, which enhances the role of the university as a global academic beacon that spreads moderation and balance.
Al Turaifi added that since its establishment, AQU has been moving confidently towards achieving its strategic goals, based on the vision of its founder to make it a global university whose pillars are the Holy Quran and the Arabic language.
Al Turaifi stressed that the university continues its successes according to a well-studied strategic plan for the coming years, focusing on expanding qualitative academic programmes and applying the highest quality standards to meet the requirements of the era. He pointed out that AQU seeks to be a leading centre in higher education and scientific research, and a bridge linking different cultures by attracting distinguished people from countries around the world, and providing them with science and knowledge throughout their years of study through academic curricula and educational programmes approved by the Ministry of Education.
The chairman of the Board of Trustees pointed out that AQU continues its global mission in preparing students to face the future with confidence, competence, coexistence and moderation by offering advanced academic programmes that achieve the highest standards of modern education, whereas it prepares its graduates to be ambassadors for the university in their homelands, pointing out that graduates return to their communities equipped with the knowledge and skills they have acquired, to participate effectively in spreading science and contributing to building their communities.
Al Turaifi concluded that AQU represents a distinguished model of academic excellence and positive global influence, which enhances its role as a global platform for educating and inspiring future generations on the values of tolerance, moderation and tolerance of Islam.
