Organised by the university's Student Affairs Deanship, the workshop titled "The Art of Generating Creative Ideas" was held yesterday morning. It aimed at enhancing the creative skills of the university's on-campus students as part of their summer activities in Sharjah.
This initiative is part of Al Qasimia University's commitment to offering activities that foster students' personal development and skill enhancement, preparing them for a bright future through community partnerships.
The workshop highlighted the joint efforts of Al Qasimia University and the Emirates Creative Association to promote creative thinking and develop students' abilities, contributing to the success of the summer activities and fostering innovation within the academic community.
The interactive workshop included key topics that improved students' understanding of creative thinking concepts. It covered the definition, characteristics, and importance of creative thinking, as well as its benefits, strategies, and skills. Additionally, the workshop addressed how to evaluate ideas to transform them into reality.
Participants used the "SCAMPER" tool during the workshop, which operates on the idea that all new concepts are modifications of existing ones. The tool featured a series of questions designed to stimulate creativity, and ideas were shared through brainstorming and teamwork.
