Sharjah 24: With moderate weather approaching, the Sharjah Department of Public Works (SDPW) has completed the project to replace lighting poles in Dibba Al Hisn's public park. A total of 90 new energy-saving LED poles have been installed.
This project aligns with the department's commitment to global lighting best practices, aiming to reduce energy consumption and meet sustainable development standards. It supports the city’s environmental initiatives to improve residents' and visitors' quality of life, cut carbon emissions, and boost energy efficiency.
Engineer Abdullah Al Tunaiji, Director of the Branches Department of SDPW highlighted that using LED lighting offers several advantages, including up to 50% energy savings compared to traditional methods, longer lamp life, and lower maintenance costs. These poles also enhance lighting quality and park safety, making it a more welcoming and comfortable space for visitors.
Al Tunaiji emphasised the department's dedication to enhancing the city’s infrastructure and pursuing sustainable projects aligned with UAE Vision 2030. He also commended the teamwork that ensured the project's timely completion.
The Dibba Al Hisn public park is a key tourist and entertainment landmark in the city, and this upgrade is a significant move toward creating a better, more sustainable environment for all visitors.
