Sharjah 24: Sharjah Charity International (SCI) revealed that their housing aid in the first half of 2024 exceeded AED 8.3 million, benefiting over 906 families in need. The assistance included covering rental arrears, electric bills, and renovating old homes for low-income people.
SCI's Executive Director, Abdullah Sultan bin Khadim, emphasised that the housing assistance is part of the organisation's larger efforts to secure a dignified existence for these families while also encouraging stability and social cohesion.

Four categories received the funds: AED 5.3 million for rental arrears for 532 families, AED 500,000 for house renovations for 19 families, AED 500,000 for utility bill payments for 113 beneficiaries, and AED 2.1 million for home furnishings for 243 families.

Bin Khadim also addressed the forthcoming "Tarmim" (renovation) programme, which aims to increase house renovation help for low-income Emiratis, ensuring they live with dignity.

He praised the organisation's ongoing efforts to offer joy to those in need, which embody UAE principles of philanthropy and social solidarity.

The organisation continues to process support requests via a dedicated online site and a toll-free phone (800-144) for enquiries. He thanked everyone who donated to help these families find stability.
