Sharjah24: Sharjah Charity International used AED 6.7 million from the Zakat account in 2023, to help 4,651 low-income individuals, including the elderly, divorcees, and widows who don't receive government aid. This support was given to improve their quality of life.
Asaad Al Zarouni, the Acting Director of the Internal Aid Department, mentioned that the organization depends on generous donations and contributions to help families in need. The SCI supports a large number of widows, orphans, needy families, and divorcees who don't have enough income to live a decent life. They provide these families with regular financial help so they can afford their basic needs. The amount of help each family receives depends on their specific needs, which is decided by the Aid Committee.

He mentioned that they give monthly help to people who are eligible and are part of the SCI's records. This help is given out from the main office and all its smaller offices in Al Madam, Al Dhaid, Kalba, Khorfakkan, and Dibba Al Hisn. In June, they spent the most money, totaling 1.158 million dirhams, and in February, they spent the next highest amount, which was AED 1.150 million.

According to Al Zarouni, The SCI's main goal is to help people with low incomes improve their living conditions. They are now allowing people to apply for assistance through their website to make the process easier and more private. The assistance they provide comes from generous donors and helps many different groups of people in need. They are asking for more support and contributions to make their programs successful, which focus on bringing communities together and helping everyone in society.
