The partnership between Sharjah Capacity Development and Seoul National University focuses on sports leadership and management. The second edition of the Sports Leadership Program resulted from this partnership, involving a collaboration with female leaders from the Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation. The program aims to equip these leaders with essential sports management skills, including strategic planning and team management, following their completion of the initial phase, which introduced them to European sports practices through a specialized Dutch training company.
The Sports Leadership Program includes three stages in cooperation with Seoul National University. The first stage includes learning about current practices in executive sports management, organizing and managing sports teams, and how to develop plans and strategies to ensure the success and excellence of sports clubs. The second stage includes a trip to South Korea, during which the leaders will attend several lectures, training courses, and field visits aimed at enriching their knowledge in the sports field. They will also get to know the most prominent specialists in the field of sports management and participate in seminars and dialogue sessions with them with the aim of benefiting and exchanging knowledge. The third and final stage includes addressing several different topics such as sports marketing and how to identify, adopt, and train sports talents by attending training courses in the Emirate of Sharjah.
The agreement, signed by Professor Khalid Al Nakhi, Director of the Sharjah Foundation for Capability Development, and Professor Youngho Lee from Seoul National University, marks a significant milestone in our international collaboration. Professor Al Nakhi expressed his satisfaction with this partnership, which aims to leverage international best practices to enhance sports communities in Sharjah.
