AQU hosts workshop on institutional quality and efficiency

Sharjah24: Al Qasimia University in Sharjah (AQU), in collaboration with the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, hosted a training workshop titled “Enhancing Institutional Effectiveness and Academic Quality through an Outcome-Based Framework.” The event saw the participation of 19 universities and higher education institutions from across the UAE.

Opening remarks

In his opening speech, His Excellency Prof. Dr Awad Al Khalaf, Chancellor of Al Qasimia University, welcomed the CAA representatives and participants, praising the ministry’s ongoing efforts in advancing higher education. He expressed confidence that the workshop would empower academic leaders and strengthen institutional alignment with the national outcome-based assessment framework.

Workshop highlights

The sessions covered advanced performance indicators, mechanisms for developing corrective action plans, and practical applications for maintaining academic quality in higher education. Participants engaged in interactive discussions on integrating outcome-based methodologies to enhance institutional performance.

The workshop concluded by emphasising the importance of cultivating a culture of quality and continuous improvement, in alignment with the Ministry’s strategy to achieve excellence and sustainable institutional effectiveness across the UAE’s higher education sector.
