Sharjah Police: ‘Laptop gang’ busted in 48 hours

Sharjah24: In a swift response, the Criminal Investigation Department at the Sharjah Police General Command apprehended a gang of 4 individuals of Arab nationality within 48 hours. These individuals had been impersonating police officers and stealing laptop computers worth approximately one million and 700 dirhams. They have been promptly referred to the judiciary, ensuring the safety and security of the community.
An individual working for a company specializing in transporting and delivering goods reported to the Central Operations Room that they were robbed and defrauded by unknown individuals posing as policemen. The incident took place in an industrial area where the robbers carried out a security inspection on the vehicle and stole a shipment of 1840 laptop computers.

Colonel Abdul Rahman Nasser Al Shamsi, the Deputy Director of the Criminal Investigation Department at Sharjah Police, stated that following the verification of the information, the investigation team initiated surveillance and evidence-gathering operations. Based on the gathered data, research, investigation, and careful monitoring, the perpetrators were identified and the location of the stolen goods was determined.
