Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation (SSEF) honoured its outstanding orphan graduates from universities and high schools for the 2023-2024 academic year in a ceremony organised by the foundation as part of its project supporting orphan education, 'Allama Bil Qalam'.
The event was attended by Her Excellency Halima Al Owais, Vice Chairperson of the Sharjah Consultative Council, and a group of members from the Family Committee of the Sharjah Consultative Council.

The number of outstanding orphan university graduates reached 8 from various specialisations and universities, while there were 27 outstanding high school graduates with a grade point average of 93% or higher. The total number of high school graduates from the foundation’s affiliates this year was 167 students.

On this occasion, Mona bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Director General of the SSEF, stated, "Every year, we are keen to organise a ceremony to honour outstanding and graduating students, out of love for them, to enhance their efforts, and to celebrate this occasion with them. This gathering has a positive impact, greatly contributing to boosting the children’s self-confidence and instilling enthusiasm in them to continue their efforts and strive for continuous excellence. We are proud today of a distinguished elite of academically outstanding graduates from both university and high school. They are the result of ongoing and integrated efforts between the family and the foundation to provide an environment conducive to creativity and diligence. We wish them a journey of academic and professional empowerment crowned with success and goodness."

She added, "This year, we honoured the outstanding elite by granting them trips to perform Umrah for the children and their mothers, as a tribute to their efforts and to bring joy to their hearts. Performing Umrah is a dream cherished by many families for the comfort and tranquility it brings to their souls."

Bin Hadda also mentioned, "Through the 'Allama Bil Qalam' project, which supports orphan education and strives to remove the challenges they face, this honouring is a continuation of this journey and an effective result of this project. The project provides families with all their educational needs and necessary requirements to support their children's education and prepare academically and scientifically qualified and knowledgeable individuals."

The 'Allama Bil Qalam' project is one of the most prominent projects in the field of academic empowerment. It aims to provide comprehensive educational support for orphan students, including a series of diverse academic and knowledge services. The project is concerned with addressing all educational needs of orphan students, offering both financial and moral support throughout their educational journey, from their first year of study until their university graduation. It ensures that orphan students affiliated with the foundation have the right to access diverse educational programs through this project.
