Sharjah24: The Family Affairs Committee of the Sharjah Consultative Council was briefed on the activities of the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation (SSEF) and its efforts in caring for orphans in Sharjah on June 1, 2024. The committee continued its review of the efforts of government institutions in family care by inviting the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation to hold a joint meeting.
The meeting is part of the committee's regular session in the first legislative term, within a series of meetings organized by the committee with various government entities, contributing to the development of initiatives and participants, and discussing frameworks for enhancing efforts in serving the people of Sharjah.
The meeting was attended by His Excellency Saeed Mattar bin Hamed Al Tunaiji, Chairman of the Committee, and members of the committee including His Excellency Abdullah Al Badawi Al Housani, His Excellency Abdullah Ma'dan Al Kitbi, His Excellency Abdullah bin Tareesh Al Kaabi, His Excellency Mohammed Al Alawi Al Dhuhoori, His Excellency Hameed Obaid Al Hammoudi, and Her Excellency Dr. Hind Al Hajri, in addition to the attendance of His Excellency Halima Al Owais, Deputy Chairperson of the Council, and His Excellency Ahmed Saeed Al Grouwan, the Secretary-General of the Council, and from the General Secretariat of the Council, Her Excellency Huda Al Hamadi, the Committee's Secretary.
Her Excellency Mona Bint Huda Al Sweidi, Director General of the Foundation, and a delegation from the management and staff of the Foundation, attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the committee was briefed on the Foundation's work and its institutional performance regarding various activities , as well as all its efforts in caring for orphans in Sharjah. The committee reviewed the Foundation's experience in serving its affiliates through a presentation highlighting the most important projects provided to serve this significant segment of society .
The committee became acquainted with the main challenges facing the Foundation in providing its services and was informed during the meeting of the efforts made and the services provided to the Foundation's affiliates, including orphans and guardians.The Family Affairs Committee praised the efforts made by the Foundation in the field of caring for and rehabilitating orphaned children, expressing their appreciation for the social and psychological support and all aspects of empowerment provided, and elevating humanitarian work to serve the dignity of orphans to take on a comprehensive social dimension. The visit included discussions and inquiries related to the work of the Foundation and aspects of cooperation that will elevate the status of orphans and meet their needs.
Mona Bint Huda Al Suwaidi expressed her appreciation for the efforts of the Consultative Council and the role of the Family Committee in reviewing the works of the Foundation and blessing its endeavors in serving the public which effectively contributes to the development and advancement of humanitarian and social work.
She continued: Our institutional vision aims at leadership in sustainable empowerment of orphans and their families, to chart a new course towards comprehensive development rich with more achievements, empowerment, and social welfare for orphan families, with achievable goals and embracing sustainability, leadership, development, and enhancing the ability to create a better future for orphans, aspiring to achieve more successes that enhance the quality of our work and elevate it.
She concluded: The Foundation's programs aim to empower orphans and improve their reality to become productive citizens capable of giving back to themselves and their society. This concern is manifested in projects and programs innovated by the Foundation to raise them in a healthy and sound manner, as well as to develop and empower them in all aspects of empowerment adopted by the Foundation, in addition to using purposeful methods in dealing with orphans while preserving their dignity to build promising and leadership personalities.
