Sharjah 24: His Excellency Ahmed Abdulrahman Al Owais, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club, held, on Monday, a consultative meeting in the Jordanian capital, Amman, with the West Asian Judo Federation, in order to host the competitions of the next edition of the championship in the Emirate of Sharjah.
During the meeting, Al Owais confirmed the club’s interest in hosting the next edition under the umbrella of the UAE Judo Federation and with the support of the Sharjah Sports Council, and that the idea was presented to the West Asian Federation, which was widely welcomed by the members, and the hosting file will be sent for study and the appropriate decision to be taken.

He pointed out that the qualitative shift in the sport of judo in the club has strengthened efforts to discover an elite group of talented players and work to develop them, which contributed to spreading the culture of practicing judo as a popular sport for boys, in addition to being an Olympic sport, stressing that the aim of hosting is to enhance the process of attracting players to join the club in order to support the national teams in the future.
