Sharjah24 : The Sharjah Charity International (SCI) launched a volunteer program for children from underprivileged families registered with SCI throughout the summer vacation under the slogan "Your Summer is a Blessing" with the aim of bringing joy to their hearts, instilling the values of volunteering in them, and enabling them to benefit from the school vacation. The volunteer program includes a variety of educational, recreational, and community activities that contribute to expanding the participants' horizons. The program runs throughout July and August with the participation of 60 children of different age groups.
Mohamed Ibrahim bin Nassar, Director of the Volunteer and Community Service Office at SCI , spoke about the positive impact of these activities on the participants. The participants will be divided into several groups, and the program began with an educational event at the Wasit Suburb Council in the presence of representatives from the Sharjah Science Museum, where the children learned about the museum and its role in enriching the sciences in the Emirate of Sharjah. This was followed by an ice cream-making activity, and then the students were introduced to the concept of endowment (Waqf) and its importance through a workshop coordinated with the Sharjah Endowments Department.

The activities included in the "Your Summer is a Blessing" program also included organizing several recreational trips during which the children can engage in various games that contribute to creating an atmosphere of playfulness and joy. Visits to the elderly care home are also made, where the participants of the summer program meet with the residents, and the grandchildren interact with the elders, sharing life experiences, which contributes to enhancing their awareness and knowledge.

Bin Nassar emphasized the importance of these programs in creating an atmosphere filled with joy, knowledge, entertainment, and various community activities that fill the participants' free time during the summer vacation, develop their personal and social skills, and promote the spirit of teamwork and the values of volunteering. These programs aim to create a generation that is aware of the importance of charitable work and acquires the experiences that will qualify them in the near future to be a key partner in the humanitarian work led by the UAE through its charitable institutions.
