Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi emphasised that this visit is part of the association's annual plan, based on reports and studies identifying the most needy areas and the most suitable projects to address their needs, particularly in Upper Egypt. He noted that Egypt is home to numerous charitable and developmental projects previously executed by the association, and this visit saw the launch of new charitable and humanitarian initiatives.
He highlighted that the delegation began its activities by laying the foundation stone for an educational school project, with a total cost of 2.7 million dirhams. This project includes the construction of two schools, one in Aswan and another in Sohag. Additionally, 1.5 million dirhams were allocated for a kidney dialysis project, which will provide 20 dialysis machines, and 270,000 dirhams were dedicated to supporting eye surgeries for residents of Sohag and Aswan governorates.
The Chairman noted that the visit also featured the launch of the "Small Hearts" campaign, which successfully performed 100 catheterisation operations for children with heart diseases. This campaign aims to complete over 1,000 operations throughout the year, fully sponsored by the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, in addition to performing 200 eye surgeries. The "Their Joy is Our Joy" initiative for orphans in Sohag governorate was also inaugurated, and Quran memorisation students were honoured.
Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi confirmed that the association has a strong track record of humanitarian work in Egypt, where it sponsors about 7,000 orphans. The value of projects implemented across various parts of Egypt has reached 56 million dirhams, covering 532 projects. These include 212 projects under productive families' initiatives, the drilling of 211 wells, the sponsorship of 49 needy families, the construction of 92 mosques, 8 community centres, and a range of other developmental projects.
