“Sharjah Youth” hones skills of members in electrical connections

Members aged 13 to 18 years old have learned these skills since joining the Skills Lab, which is in its third edition this year, specifically within the Professional Skills Lab agenda, which includes a package of foundational programs in addition to the Electrical Connections and Automotive Mechanics programs. The agenda also includes programs for home maintenance, architectural models, healthy dish preparation, and carpentry.

The members received detailed explanations in the Electrical Connections program, which provided them with a strong and in-depth knowledge of the basics of electricity and mastery of electrical connection skills for various residential electrical circuits, as well as enhanced their ability to detect faults and how to repair them.

The members were introduced to the different and advanced types of residential electrical circuits using a light sensor and a motion sensor, and after mastering the necessary skills, they were able to design and implement electrical circuits on wooden bases with precision and professional performance.

As for the Automotive Mechanics program, the members learned about the parts of the car engine and their mechanical functions, as well as how to identify and maintain faults, in addition to their involvement in a practical application with explanation and clarification in disassembling and reassembling the complete car engine, and learning the skills of using the necessary tools for that.

The members were briefed on a simplified explanation of the entire cooling system, how to change the coolant and change the oil and filters, the condition of the tires and the skills to remove and install them, in addition to monitoring the battery charging and making a connection with another battery to recharge it. This is in addition to the fuel pump, how it works, the most prominent faults, and the correct ways to maintain it.

This program reflects the concern of Sharjah's youth to provide an attractive environment for its members and to offer specialized programs that equip them with the knowledge of automotive mechanics and the basics of electricity, and meet their passion for maintaining them, in addition to its alignment with the ambitious development system of the  'Quarter of a Century Foundation' for Creating leaders and Innovators, and its strategic vision as a "community partner in building and empowering aware and influential generations.
