The award comes in honour of the late Hamda Taryam Al Shamsi career full of giving and community service, as she was an example of dedication and sincerity in serving the nation and society, leaving an unforgettable mark in the field of volunteer work.
The deceased had a humanitarian vision to serve others, so she dug a well and established a medical centre in a village in Uganda, in addition to many charitable works. These efforts resulted in the launch of the Hamda Foundation for Charitable Investments in Uganda and the “Hamda Social Vocational Institute” project in the Masaka region of Uganda, with the aim of qualifying students professionally and artistically, to enter the labour market for free, in addition to the “Taryam School for Orphans” project, which provides free education for 350 male and female students at different educational levels.
In this context, the Board of Trustees expressed its pride in honouring an exceptional personality such as Hamda Taryam Al Shamsi, noting that this honour reflects deep appreciation for the great role that the deceased played in serving society, which embodies the UAE’s approach to serving humanity locally and abroad.
The Board of Trustees stated that such honouring also comes to encourage future generations to emulate the path of the late Hamda Taryam Al Shamsi, and to continue giving and volunteering, because of its great positive impact in building a cohesive and cooperative society, indicating that her memory will remain immortal in the hearts of everyone, and remain an example to be followed.
Honouring the late Hamda Taryam Al Shamsi with the “Exceptional Personality” Award is a tribute to everyone who contributes to serving society with sincerity and dedication.
