Sharjah 24: Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work (SAVW) granted the “Veteran Figures” award to the late Dr. Jamal Obaid Al Bah Al Ali, in commemoration of the late man.
This came during the annual ceremony honouring the 21st SAVW winners, organised by the award under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Chairman of the Executive Council.

His son Abdullah Jamal Al Bah, received the award on behalf of the deceased from Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Statistics and Community Development in Sharjah, during the event that was recently held in the theatre of the Centre for International Organisations for Islamic Heritage at Sharjah Institute Heritage (SIH).

Veteran figures honoured with this award are a symbol of sincerity and dedication to community service, as the award aims to highlight their distinguished efforts and contributions in the fields of volunteer and humanitarian work, and to honour their efforts that have greatly impacted their communities and their humanitarian and volunteer service throughout their lives.

Honouring Dr. Jamal Obaid Al Bah Al Ali with the “Veteran Figures” Award is an embodiment of the spirit of loyalty and appreciation for all those who gave their lives in society service, and is part of the ongoing efforts of SAVW to promote the culture of volunteer work.

On this occasion, SAVW Board of Trustees expressed its sincere condolences and sympathy to the family of the deceased, praising his great role in promoting the values of volunteerism in society.

The Council pointed out that honouring Dr. Jamal Obaid Al Bah is an expression of SAVW deep gratitude for his great efforts and contributions in the field of volunteer work, being a symbol of giving and dedication.

The deceased was one of the most prominent figures who contributed to the development of volunteer and social work at Sharjah and UAE levels. He was known for a career full of giving and volunteer work, and left an indelible mark on his community through his charitable projects and initiatives, in addition to his dedication and distinguished contributions. His passing left a profound impact on the hearts of his colleagues, who always remember him with his beautiful character and unlimited giving.

It is noteworthy that the ceremony saw the honouring of a number of winners in different categories of the award, where the awards were presented to a group of institutions and individuals who distinguished themselves in their volunteer work, which reflects the spirit of excellence and inspiration that SAVW seeks to spread in society.
