Sharjah 24: As part of Sharjah Public Prosecution's commitment to community engagement and to embedding the values of empowerment and inclusion, its Youth Council has held its first dialogue session with members of Al Thiqah Club for the Disabled. The initiative was designed to open a genuine space for conversation with people of determination, to hear their hopes directly, and to spotlight their personal success stories in ways that support their quality of life and active participation in society.

A vision built on inclusion

The session opened with welcoming remarks, in which the Youth Council said the gathering reflected the UAE's broader vision of building a more inclusive society—one rooted in empowering people, offering equal opportunity, and improving the quality of life for every member of the community, with people of determination considered essential partners in the nation's development journey.

The family as the first line of support

Discussions centred on several key themes, including quality of life and empowerment, as well as the role of the family in supporting and empowering people with determination—a focus that ties in with this year's designation as the Year of the Family. Participants agreed that the family remains the first foundation for building self-confidence, developing ability, and creating the kind of supportive environment that allows children to pursue their ambitions and take an active part in society.

Real voices, real stories

The session also provided an opportunity for participants to speak openly about the challenges they encounter in their daily lives, share their perspectives and recommendations, and recount inspiring accomplishments in sports, academia, and social life. They agreed that determination, family support and institutional empowerment are key ingredients for overcoming obstacles and reaching their goals.

The Tree of Trust A variety of interactive activities took place during the session to encourage participation, with the “Tree of Trust” being the highlight – an activity in which participants were invited to write messages, ideas and hopes on paper leaves and stick them onto a tree. The symbolic gesture was designed to reflect the importance of building trust, listening to different voices, and turning suggestions into real opportunities for development and a better quality of life.

A warm response

The session drew a positive response from both participants and parents, who said this kind of direct dialogue plays an important role in amplifying the voices of people of determination, highlighting their needs, and strengthening their place within the community—all while reaffirming the family's role as a core partner in the empowerment journey.

The Sharjah Public Prosecution Youth Council said the session marks the beginning of a wider series of dialogue meetings aimed at deepening community partnerships, embedding a culture of open conversation, and listening to different segments of society—in line with the UAE's vision of a more cohesive society that places people at the heart of development and strengthens quality of life, empowerment, and social sustainability.
