At the beginning of the meeting, HE SEDD Chairman welcomed the delegation, stressing on the necessity of holding such meetings periodically, because of their major role in enhancing coordination between the two sides and accelerating development processes. Also, HE pointed out that the Department encourages economic investments and supports self-employment within the emirate. In addition, Al Mahmoud explained that all procedures followed to run businesses help create an attractive environment for investment in light of the infrastructure, facilities and services that the emirate possesses as a result of the cooperation of government agencies in Sharjah, to provide all support to businesswomen and investors. Likely, he pointed out that the Department has succeeded in reducing the time of completion of licenses and various transactions through several procedures taken to develop services to match the highest international quality standards.
Furthermore, HE praised the communication between the two sides and the prominent role they play in serving the emirate. He stressed the Department's keenness to enhance institutional competitiveness and achieve comprehensive sustainable development in accordance with the local government strategy and in order to achieve common goals that serve the public interest and strengthen cooperation. This contributes to enhancing the performance of the national economy and upgrading it, strengthening the competitiveness of various economic sectors and creating an encouraging environment for investment, which in turn contributes to raising the level of attractiveness of the emirate to attract more businesses.
Enhancing women's participation in business sectors
For her part, HE Sheikha Hind bint Majid Al Qasimi, Chairperson of “SBWC”, praised the meeting with SEDD, stating: "This communication is a vital opportunity to enhance cooperation and coordination between government sector institutions and learn about the latest developments in the economic and development scene of Sharjah. Also, these meetings enhance our understanding of the new investment opportunities and challenges that may face women entrepreneurs, to serve the interests of businesswomen in the emirate. Thus, we believe that our mutual efforts enhance the economic capabilities of women leaders in various business sectors, and create a supportive and encouraging environment for innovation and investment in new sectors, which contributes to enhancing women's contribution to the local and national economy".
By the end of the meeting, SWBC delegation thanked for the good reception they received from the Department. They also stressed their enthusiasm to learn and benefit from SEDD experiences and expertise, in order to enhance the mutual work system, and to find outputs that serve all parties that contribute to the advancement and expansion of service levels in the emirate of Sharjah. Also, they seek to enhance the development and sustainability of the emirate's economy by raising the level of coordination between various competent parties, in order to enhance the emirate's competitiveness at the local and international levels. Moreover, the two sides stressed on the importance of holding such meetings to develop and improve common work system.
