Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation (SSEF) continues its "Sidreh of Wishes" project, dedicated to fulfilling the wishes of orphans affiliated with the foundation. Since its inception, the project has realised over 3,000 wishes by the end of May, bringing happiness to the hearts of these children and leaving a positive impact on their lives. By making their simple dreams come true, the project instills a sense of support and solidarity among the orphans.
The "Sidreh of Wishes" project holds significant importance and priority due to the foundation's commitment to its orphans. It aims to foster happiness among the orphans and encourage philanthropists to promote the values of giving and social solidarity. This necessitates understanding and addressing the needs and desires of these children.

Maryam Al Khalifa, Head of Public Relations, stated, "Believing in our role to provide the best care for orphans, the foundation has focused on bringing joy to their hearts by fulfilling the wishes they long for. The project began in 2016 and has since created a joyful journey for more than 2,700 orphans residing in Sharjah. The ongoing success and public engagement in fulfilling these wishes reflect the project's impact."

She continued, "The foundation is dedicated to maintaining strong communication with the children, understanding their needs and wishes, and then promoting these to individuals and organisations within the community for fulfillment. We've witnessed the children's joy when receiving their wishes, which significantly boosts their morale and reinforces a sense of community support. Although the gifts might be simple, their impact on the children's spirits is profound. The project not only strengthens the bond between society and orphans but also leaves a lasting impression on donors, making them feel the humanitarian impact of their contributions."

Al Khalifa added, "There is considerable involvement from community institutions throughout the project. Numerous organisations and employees have shown a keen interest in participating. Support continues from both individuals and entities, whether governmental or private, across the nation. They have actively participated in making our orphans' wishes come true. The project is ongoing, and we are still working to fulfill the remaining wishes and those of future orphans joining the foundation. Anyone interested can contact us to request a list of wishes and choose one to fulfill, either by bringing the item to the foundation or donating its value for us to deliver to the deserving children."

She shared, "We have encountered many touching wishes that revealed the children's deep desires. One child wished to make his mother happy, so we arranged a fun day for the family at a shopping centre, including shopping vouchers, entertainment, and a dinner reservation, bringing joy to the entire family. Another child wished for a PlayStation 5 and saved money monthly to achieve it. However, due to a financial crisis, his mother borrowed the money to pay off a debt. When the foundation learned of this, we fulfilled his wish, bringing immense joy to the child. We also provided a television to complete his happiness. Another orphan wished for a graduation suit, which we provided promptly before his graduation ceremony, ensuring he enjoyed both his wish and his special day."

Continuing the mission of the "Sidreh of Wishes" project is vital for enhancing the humanitarian, social, and psychological support for orphans, reflecting the foundation's deep vision and distinctive approach in achieving sustainable empowerment and comprehensive care for its children.
