Sharjah 24: In a move that corresponds to its strategy to establish long-term alliances with diverse institutions on a local, regional, and global scale, the Sharjah Women's Sports Foundation (SWSF) has announced the signing of an agreement with Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University. The goal is to bolster women's sports and related fields, encourage their social and athletic development, and support the foundation's objectives.
Coinciding with the signing ceremony, the university sponsored the first-ever athletic competition for female students and faculty from GCC nations, which runs until May 1.

Dr. Dunia Bint Abdulaziz Al-Farraj, Dean of rincess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University in Riyadh, and Hanan Al Mahmoud, Vice President of the Sharjah Women's Sports Foundation, signed the agreement in the presence of representatives from both organisations. Attendees included Norah Al Shamsi, Deputy Director of the Foundation; Maria Bin Karam, Media and Public Relations Executive; and officials from the universities.

The collaboration between the two groups has huge potential, and Al Mahmoud has stressed its significance. She said the foundation will use its sports facilities and technical and administrative personnel to support the pact, and she hoped that the partnership will help the university and the foundation achieve their respective goals.

The foundation and the university have reached this agreement as part of their shared commitment to advancing women's sports, fostering twinning programmes between Saudi and Emirati educational institutions, providing equal access to athletic opportunities for girls and women, and sharing knowledge and resources.

Free training programmes in many sectors for team management, technical staff, and players are only one of many areas of collaboration included in the agreement. Other areas of cooperation include organising sports camps for female students and exchanging visits for players and technical staff to exchange expertise.
