Sharjah 24: The Festival of Adahi (Sacrifices), organised by the Municipal Council of Khorfakkan, kicked off on Thursday in Al Haray area, near the livestock market, as part of preparations for Eid Al Adha.
His Excellency Dr. Rashid Khamis Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Municipal Council of Khorfakkan, stated that the festival provides competitive opportunities for consumers to purchase sacrificial animals before the holiday. He told “Sharjah 24” that the festival is an annual event the council is committed to organising to support local farmers and livestock breeders.
Dr. Al Naqbi explained that the festival features the sale of various types of sacrificial animals, and birds, as well as a section dedicated to traditional foods and products from local families. He noted that the event enhances cultural heritage and the transmission of customs and traditions.
He also mentioned that the city of Khorfakkan is fully prepared for the holiday, with the relevant authorities having decorated streets and public squares and prepared prayer areas.
