Marwan Al Mazmi, a standout for both the "King" team and the UAE national karate team, led the club to retain its prestigious title, winning the Kata cup for the fifth consecutive time and the Kumite cup for the fourth time. The club also secured the overall excellence shield for the men's category for the second consecutive year.
The final tournament of the Karate Federation's season featured broad participation, with 20 teams from 8 clubs and more than 100 players competing.
This victory reinforced the “King”'s dominance in the sport, having already secured the general league shield for karate "Kata" and sharing the top spot in "Kumite," capping off the season with the most prestigious titles.
Engineer Suleiman Abdulrahman Al Hajri, a board member, expressed his immense satisfaction with the result, describing it as a fitting conclusion to the club's remarkable season, which saw numerous achievements in various individual sports, reflecting the administration's dedicated efforts.
The Head of Individual Sports pointed out that winning the President's Cup is a significant achievement, and praised the team’s champions, both male and female, for living up to expectations and retaining the cup.
Al Hajri remarked, "The results achieved by the karate team this season are the outcome of collective effort from the technical and administrative staff and the players. We are proud and happy with our players’ ability to retain the prestigious cups for the fifth consecutive time, despite strong competition from other clubs."
He added, "Reaching the top is possible, and anyone can get there, but staying at the top is the real challenge, which our players have met over the past years with their absolute dominance in the sport."
Al Hajri also commended the continuous support from the board of directors, their constant presence at championships, and their encouragement of the players, which challenges us to maintain this performance across all sports. He highlighted the important role of the Sharjah Sports Council in developing the individual sports system in all clubs within the emirate.
The championship was attended by Major General (Retired) Nasser Al Razouqi, President of the UAE and Asian Karate Federations and Vice President of the International Karate Federation; Khalid Issa Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Club; Engineer Suleiman Abdulrahman Al Hajri, Board Member; Mansour Al Hamshi, Chairman of Al Ain Club for Sports Games; Humaid Shams, Secretary General of the UAE Karate Federation; and other board members, who also awarded the winners.
