Sharjah Club leads the UAE Open Karate Championship

Sharjah 24: Sharjah Sports Club’s karate champions strengthened their position in the game, after the team was crowned champion of the UAE Open Karate Championship (Individual Kata), in its second round, in the tournament hosted by Sharjah Sports Club, in Al Hazana.
The Karate Kings were able to obtain 14 medals, including 5 gold medals, 3 silver medals, and 6 bronze medals, in the tournament designated for the categories of men, youth, junior (men); and women and junior (women), where 90 players participated, representing 13 private clubs and academies.

Sharjah Sports Club players won the championship last week, in its first round, with a large margin over the second-place finisher.

Champions are preparing for the first round of the same tournament, the UAE Open Karate Championship, designated for the “Kumite” (fighting) category.

Engineer Sulaiman Abdul Rahman Al Hajri, member of the Board of Directors of Sharjah Sports Club and Head of the Individual Games Department, congratulated the team on the result, indicating that it success is the result of work and prior planning of all parties, including the administrative and technical staff and the players.

Al Hajri explained that in the last three years, the team was able to obtain all the local championships, and went further by supplying the UAE’s national teams with distinguished Emirati talents who made remarkable achievements in the name of the national team.

The head of the individual games pointed out that the results achieved by the club’s teams, and the karate team in particular, did not come by chance, but rather a result of the plans and strategies drawn up by the administration with the technical and administrative staff of the game.

Al Hajri confirmed that Sharjah Sports Club, has Emirati talents that the club works in every way to support and develop them, and to assign the best technical staff to raise their capabilities and increase their experience so that they can be the best ambassadors for the United Arab Emirates internationally.
