SPWD celebrates World Environment Day

Sharjah24: The Sharjah Public Works Department (SPWD) commemorated World Environment Day by hosting a unique event centred around raising awareness about the environment and distributing Al Ghaf tree seeds.
The event showcased a variety of engaging activities. Additionally, participants had the opportunity to attend workshops focused on the cultivation and nurturing of the Al Ghaf tree.

At the event, attendees were given Al Ghaf tree seeds and provided with instructions on how to plant and care for them to promote strong and active growth. This initiative is focused on inspiring individuals to actively participate in the expansion of green spaces and the protection of biodiversity.

Maryam Al Mazmi, Director of the Corporate Communication Centre, highlighted the vital importance of community involvement in safeguarding the environment. According to her, these events play a crucial role in raising awareness about the environment and fostering collaborative efforts to preserve it for future generations.

She also highlighted the significance of the initiative, emphasising its role in creating shaded areas and fresh air. Additionally, she pointed out the practical impact of converting carbon emissions into clean air for future generations.
