Consultive Council's ECMYAC Visits FUNN

Sharjah24: The Sharjah Consultive Council's Committee for Education, Culture, Media, and Youth Affairs (ECMYAC) explored the diligent efforts and continued responsibilities of the FUNN organisation, which operates under the Executive Office of Her Highness. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, is instrumental in developing the capabilities of young filmmakers and creative talents, honing their skills, and encouraging them to showcase their work.
The committee, led by Sheikha Ali Al Naqbi, paid a visit to the FUNN's headquarters, along with members Mohammed Ali Al Manai, Kaltham Saif Al Teneji, Sheikha Khalfan Al Dhanin Al Naqbi, Mouza Muadhad Bin Howaiden, and Yousef Mohammed Al Mazrouei. Huda Al Hammadi, Secretary of the Committee, and Islam Al Shiwi, Media Expert, were among the delegation members from the Consultive Council's General Secretariat.

Sheikha Jawaher Bint Abdullah Al Qasimi, Director of FUNN, and Mariam Ibrahim Al Mulla, Director of Programmes Department, welcomed the delegation.

The committee received a briefing at the start of the tour about the institution's responsibilities in creating an innovative and inspiring media environment for children and youth in the disciplines of arts and creativity, as well as generating visual works.

They also learnt about the institution's efforts to provide training programmes and specialised workshops for enhancing artistic and visual talents in filmmaking.

In the meeting, the attendees reviewed FUNN's activities and programmes, focusing on effective communication among government entities, the school community, and families. They also mentioned initiatives to identify and nurture creative skills among youngsters and children.

The committee complimented FUNN's unique ways of offering quality and training content, which help to produce an aware and creative generation capable of addressing future problems. This vision allows filmmakers to contribute to the local cultural and creative environment.

Furthermore, the need for ongoing collaboration across educational, cultural, and artistic organisations to accomplish similar goals and integrate efforts was emphasised.

The committee emphasised the need to continue to promote and execute projects that help youngsters and children develop their artistic and creative talents, since they have a beneficial impact on society as a whole. 

They thanked FUNN for its efforts and reiterated their full support for ideas and programmes that improve work efficiency in accordance with the institution's goals of developing and fostering creative abilities in adolescents and children.
