Sharjah 24: Dr. Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC), elaborated that the Council hosted a symposium titled "Climate Change: Preparation, Opportunities, and Benefits" on Thursday. This event formed part of the Council's community initiatives, conducted within the scope of its activities for the first regular session of the eleventh legislative term.
He emphasised the significance of hosting enlightenment sessions and seminars for the community, particularly targeting the youth, to address forthcoming challenges. He stressed the importance of increasing awareness through discussions with specialists. Dr. Al Nuaimi highlighted that the recent extraordinary weather conditions experienced by the country during the intense depression are indicative of global climate change.
Al Nuaimi further commented to “Sharjah 24” that climate change demands societal vigilance and enlightenment, as it remains a persistent issue worldwide in the years to come. He elaborated, "Hence, we have invited young experts from our nation specialising in climate change, sustainability, and development, as part of the inaugural sessions of the Council, which will persist in the upcoming period."
