Sharjah24: Sharjah Charity International (SCI) has reinforced its digital transformation by placing 4 smart donation screens at Sahara Mall, Mega Mall, 06 Mall, and the University of Sharjah Hospital, with an additional 22 devices to be added in several other locations by the next Ramadan.
Mohammed Rashid bin Bayat, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, stated that the new donation screens are fully smart screens characterized by flexibility and ease, allowing donors to easily make their donations as an alternative to traditional donation methods.
These screens are equipped with a large number of easy donation methods, including Apple Pay and Samsung Pay for mobile phones, self-scanning donation codes, as well as the ability to donate via credit cards, allowing donors to make donations quickly and flexibly.
Bayat, mentioned that 100 donation boxes were allocated to be placed in mosques and public locations, out of a total of 8205 boxes throughout the year. These boxes vary in size, ranging from large to medium and small, to cover all the locations where the association is present and to cater to various segments of society. Additionally, 100 volunteers were selected for collecting donations for Friday prayers, compared to 52 for electronic coupon collectors, confirming that the selected volunteers are known for their diligence, credibility, and trustworthiness.
He pointed out that the donation collection management has 180 manual donation devices for various designated donations, allowing donors to choose the donation amount they prefer to place inside them. SCI also provides donation tables for collecting donations through electronic coupons at malls, shops, cooperative societies, and shopping centers in various cities and areas of Sharjah. The idea of electronic coupons has witnessed significant interaction and response from donors as its systems are directly linked to the SCI's headquarters, making it one of the safest and easiest donation methods, saving time for both the donor and the collector. In the same context, SCI provided 592 safes inside mosques to receive donations from worshipers in cooperation with the Sharjah Islamic Affairs Department. It also placed 135 donation boxes in addition to 98 donation devices in several hotels in cooperation with the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority as part of the "Development of Goodness" initiative.
Rashid bin Bayat explained that besides donation boxes and coupons, there are other means to receive donations, including website donations, text messages, smart links, credit cards, bank accounts, and communication through the call center 80014, urging donors to interact and contribute through the available channels that suit them, whether electronically or in paper form, to support the SCI's campaigns in general and the Ramadan campaign in particular. Ibn Bayat clarified that the SCI is in the process of launching its smart application on mobile phones to represent a qualitative addition alongside the new website, which is expected to be announced by the end of this year.
