Sharjah24: Residents of Kalba continue to rally together in response to the aftermath of heavy rains that recently affected the city, working to support those affected at all levels through the community volunteer campaign "Awn Kalba."
For the third consecutive day, the campaign, initiated by the Al Fureish Suburb Council under the jurisdiction of the Districts Affairs Department, has received significant support and participation from supporters and volunteers from the local community in providing food and logistical assistance to affected citizens and residents.
Aisha Al Raisi and Naema Al Zaabi, coordinators of the campaign, highlighted in statements to Sharjah24 that the campaign continues its efforts with notable support and collaboration from the Sharjah Police General Headquarters, the Department of Social Services, the Districts Affairs Department, the Sharjah Charity International, and the UAE Red Crescent.
They further explained that the campaign, which involves approximately 1000 volunteers, provides more than 3000 packages daily, consisting of a variety of essential food items, family and child necessities, and works to distribute them to beneficiaries. Meanwhile, relevant authorities continue to work closely to clear rainwater accumulations, repair damaged homes, and restore the city to its accustomed urban charm.
