Sharjah 24: The Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators proudly acknowledges its affiliates who attained top positions in the twelfth edition of the Sharjah Sustainability Award. This edition saw participation from over 767 projects representing various educational institutions across the country.
The Sharjah Sustainability Award marks a significant milestone in the local awards landscape, particularly in sustainability. Its success is evident in catalysing a notable shift in the culture and practices toward sustainability, achieving the desired qualitative change.
In the realm of awards, Sajaya Girls of Sharjah in Khorfakkan clinched first place in the sustainable environmental project category for green schools. Their project, "Air, Water, and Food Quality Monitoring System," secured the top spot. Meanwhile, members of Sharjah Youth earned second place in the same category with their project on designing and constructing robots called Aquatic, aimed at cleaning and safeguarding water bodies and oceans while managing waste and chemical pollutants. Additionally, in the category of best environmental project in artificial intelligence for green schools, Sharjah Youth members claimed the first position with their project, Sustainable Integrated Agricultural Improvement (SIAO), affectionately known as Ghaith, which utilises advanced automation systems and artificial intelligence to reclaim desert lands.
It's important to highlight that these technical projects, along with others, are the culmination of extensive training hours invested by participants in science and technology track programmes, especially the electronics programme. This programme, conducted from October 2023 to February 2024, served as a platform for refining and developing participants' skills in technology, innovation, and sustainability.
These technological endeavours mirror the ambitious vision of the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation and underscore its pioneering role in preparing future generations to emerge as innovators in the realm of technical innovation. Operating under the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for creating leaders and innovators, four institutions cater to children and young adults aged 6 and above: the Sharjah Children, Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah, Sharjah Youth, and Sharjah Capability Development.
