Sharjah24: The Sharjah Electricity, Water, and Gas Authority (SEWA) is tirelessly working to finalise the water network in Mehathab suburb. Work has begun on extending water lines in the areas of the suburb, including Al Quttainah 1 and 4, at a total cost of 15 million dirhams, with the water network stretching 28 kilometers.
The project is set to be finished by the end of 2024, following the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
Faisal Al Sarkal, Director of Water Department at SEWA has confirmed that a comprehensive plan has been put into action to establish a water network in the Mehathab suburb. The project is estimated to cost over 78 million dirhams and cover a distance of 180 kilometres.
In a recent statement, Al Sarkal highlighted the completion of a significant water transmission line project. He continued by stressing that the line, stretching over 6 kilometres and having a diameter of 800 millimetres, connects the Al Zubair station to the Mehathab suburb, adding that the project, which came with a price tag of 15.5 million dirhams, was successfully finished last year.He added also that the water line extension in Al Quttainah 1 and 4 is currently in progress, with the project expected to be finished by the end of this year. The water network for the remaining areas of the suburb is set to commence in the third quarter of this year.
He emphasised SEWA's dedication to ongoing development projects and the expansion of the water network in new areas of the Emirate of Sharjah. The aim is to provide top-notch services for development projects, maintaining the highest standards.
